These cone vases are amongst my oldest shapes, as with all my vases they are slip-cast and the original shapes were made to look like sheets of paper which have been twisted around to form counter balanced ovals.

All my pieces are hand painted and unique. I try to compress the essence of a plant or landscape on to these vases. They come in 3 designs, in the tall cones the Leaves, Flower and Forest, while the smaller cones come in the Flower and Leaf design.

The Tall cones are 29 cms tall and 8 cms wide at the base.
The small cones are 16 cms tall and 8 cms wide at the base.

Santa Chiara cloisters Naples. On my holidays at the moment and visited this remarkable example of Maiolica ceramics. The pillars would have acted as supports for pergolas for climbing plants. It reminds me of the joy and colour of Maiolica. #maiolica #sussexguild #ryeartists #cloisters #handpainted
