Drawing has always played a big part of my artistic practice but finding time to devote to it has always been difficult. However, in 2020 there has been nothing, but time and I realized what I had been missing. These drawings are not botanical studies but efforts to get inside the particular character of each plant and a way of exploring the use of line to do so.

All drawings are hand drawn one-off originals drawn in pen and ink, on A3 paper, 27 x 42 cm (or 11.7 x 16.5 in.). They are £350 each un-framed. Free Postage for the UK and Ireland, £8 for Europe and £12 for the rest of the world.

Santa Chiara cloisters Naples. On my holidays at the moment and visited this remarkable example of Maiolica ceramics. The pillars would have acted as supports for pergolas for climbing plants. It reminds me of the joy and colour of Maiolica. #maiolica #sussexguild #ryeartists #cloisters #handpainted
