In 2007 I moved from London to Hastings, a place steeped in history and with its own quirky vibe. The rest of East Sussex follows in this vein with a huge variety of different landscapes with white cliffs; shingle beaches, deserted military defences, miniature railways, and mysterious figures cut into the chalk hills. A place unto itself with limitless subjects to paint.
