A couple of pears but on a larger scale.
The shapes of these bowls were the result of another experiment with twisted planes. The bowls were produced by twisting 2 sheets of plastic, making a cast of each surface, and then joining them together to make the model. When I came to slip cast them, the bowls are double cast meaning that they are in fact hollow and fairly light, but visually they have the solidity of stone.
The imagery on them is mostly fruit based with inspiration coming from the paintings of William Scott.
